About

About Yoga Eight
Yoga Eight was born out of three simple principles:
-
Yoga classes should be affordable and accessible
Students should be nurtured in a safe and comfortable environment
Your yoga practice should serve you
Yoga classes should be affordable and accessible
Anyone can do yoga. Flexibility is not a requirement, breathing is. Classes are taught with modifications so that every practitioner can find their expression of the pose, and find benefit from yoga. Our practice space is purposely small and simple, allowing us to focus on teaching students and keep costs down.
Students should be nurtured in a safe and comfortable environment
We never want students to find themselves in poses which they are uncomfortable in. Listening to your body is one of our core philosophies, both in teaching and in practice. Our teachers are all certified at the 200 hour level through Yoga Alliance accredited schools and have a passion for teaching yoga.
Your yoga practice should serve you
We offer 26 classes every week, allowing you to choose which time works best in your schedule. You shouldn’t have to rearrange your life just to fit yoga into your daily cycle.

Yoga Eight was founded by David and Akemi Turner in July of 2009. The studio is the culmination of a shared dream between David and Akemi, which with the help from Charles Dean of the Hwa Rang Do West Academy became reality. We are excited to add to the already thriving yoga community in Madison by adding a studio focused on a Vinyasa/Ashtanga style of yoga.
