First in a multipart series, learn the basics of giving adjustments in a yoga class. In this workshop we will cover:

Philosophy behind safe and effective adjustments
Hands on adjustments for basic yoga postures
Assists for inversions
Different techniques used for different situations
Biomechanics of adjustments
Psychological and Motor Learning principles behind adjustments.
Adjustments will be presented in a dogma-free environment, with an emphasis on safety of the student and instructor. Adjustments will be practiced on each other under the watchful eye of a highly experienced and trained instructor. This workshop is perfect for anyone wishing to deepen their teaching practice or refresh and review adjustments. The adjustment workshop is intended for yoga teachers, but everyone is welcome to attend. Please contact us with any questions
This workshop will be lead by David Turner. David studied with Larry Schultz of It’s Yoga for 4 years starting in the fall 2006. David also took David Swenson’s teacher training in 2007 at YogaJaya in Tokyo. David has led over 3000 yoga classes and estimates he has given over 80,000 individual adjustments.
“I believes that adjustments are an important part of the ‘toolkit’ of teaching. Different people learn different ways, some people learn visually, others auditoraily. Personally, I feel much more of a kinesthetic learner, which is why I love adjustments. They enable me teach the way I learn.
“Adjustments don’t have to be harsh or forceful, some of my favorite adjustments require just a light touch.”
